When we were at our most broken state as a couple we posted the most… bragged the most… did what we could to make it look like we were in bliss…

The truth is that ten years together has been ugly. It’s been mean and insulting. It’s been going to bed angry. Its been words that cut like knives. It’s been betrayal. Its been spending a whole year not knowing the other at all. It’s been considering divorce.

Its also been suffering loss together. It’s been seeing the other at their most vulnerable state and just wanting to absorb the pain for them. It’s been therapy. Its been breaking down walls. It’s been unpacking deep shit. It’s been learning the art of communication. It’s been finding God. It’s been forgiveness.

It’s been knowing each other completely. It’s been raising two beautiful souls made up of both of our dna. It’s been laughing until I pee on myself. It’s been making up in the best of ways and falling down just to get back up again.

It’s been seeing every bit of eachother-down to the rotten parts, the parts that others never see and choosing to see the beauty in one another anyway.

10 years has been a shit storm… but damn if we haven’t had some fucking magnificent rainbows along the way.
